Looking good mate :)

Do you have '444 bhp' then? ;) Quite a cool plate. You need big turbo next so it's true of the car lol.

Not quite! The garage I bought the car off is his friends with the owner of Dream Machines, his daughter had the car. They were a small garage that dealt in TVR’s, Porsches, Aston’s things like that so I’m guessing it originally came off one of them. As much I would like 444BHP, I don’t/won’t be allowed to justify spending the cash.

Had a less than busy day today while working from home, so fitted my splitter and stuck the side clips down with contact adhesive to stop it wondering.

Also changed my HID's for a better quality set (6000k)

I am finding that when it is cold 1st and 2nd gear are a little gravelly. Is this normal? Once the car is warmed up its better but not loads. I was looking at doing a gear linkage rest however cannot as I don’t have a home positioning to work off. Will a box oil change help? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The previous owner fitted a B&M stick shift. Is there anyway the alignment can be done by holding the stick in place by hand or some sort of tool? The other option was to try the bushing set that Tom has bought or to borrow the original stick shift and swap it over for the alignment.

Aha gotcha. I would have thought you would be able to do it by someone holding the gear stick in the neutral position whilst someone else resets the linkages

That's what I thought and was hoping. I'm guessing the home position is neutralish?

Yes mate that's correct. When I was watching that video the reason the guy used the metal pin was because he is on his own. I swear garages just get a couple of guys where one holds the gear stick and the other does it

I will give that a try then. Do they have to be precise? Or if its a mm or two out from what it should be; will that be ok? It's a horrible feeling changing gear and there is a little hesitation before it for in.

The home position is not where the stick sits when in neutral. You'll have to pull the stick backwards and left a little bit to pin it in the home position. Personally I wouldn't even attempt to do it by holding the stick in place when you can't even be sure where the home position is. Your B&M gear stick also includes a short-shift kit doesn't it? If you could change the stick for an OEM one then that would let you do it.

Regarding your 1st and 2nd gear feeling gravelly when cold, I did the gear alignment a few months back and my 1st and 2nd are still like that. Change of gearbox oil will be more likely to help that than resetting the linkages.

I was afraid of this. It does included a quick shift yes, to temporarily replace the stick for the oem would be the best choice. If you know anyone who has one let me know. For now I will look to the oil change, see how that goes. At the moment I have a small fish tank in the rear foot well. So the seals are on the cards.

Haven't updated for a while. Recently moved in with my better half, which is great however the ride to work is now less forgiving, very shite roads!

Don't think I have done to much to Darth recently. Starting to get paranoid with rods and other nightmares that you read about. However have bought one of these!

Still need to order the pipe work. Any tips towards fitting would be gratefully appreciated.
The other concern is where the bumper had a knock the fixings are damaged and the bumper doesn't sit flush. Once I try to fit the FMIC will the bumper go back on? To be honest it's a real mess and is very high on the todo list to get sprayed and properly reattached.

For the bank holiday weekend I was heading towards Hastings and what with all the bikes thought I had better clean the car up a bit. First time for months. Pleased with the results.

On a separate note started a little recreational activity.

Car is looking good mate :)

On the bumper, have you thought about buying another one and getting that sprayed instead? Not sure how bad the damage is to the fixings but might be worth considering. Unless yours is really badly damaged I would expect the fmic to fit ok with the bumper on. There's a fitting guide on here somewhere for the toyosports one. RedBull created it, pretty sure it's a sticky thread somewhere. Should have all the fitting info you need mate.

Hey mate
I hadn't but I had the spray chap take a look and he said he can replace the broken clips, I dont think it was many. I had read RedBulls write up and will be following that.
Cheers

Received my 007p DV service kit the other. Next day delivery, very nice.
Took the old one off and tried the old pen trick, thought to myself, I'm sure it held the pressure better than that before.

Cleaned it all up and took it apart.

Did the pen trick again and found the difference unbelievable!
Has made a hell of a difference the other one must have been leaking a good'n, the dump valve is only just over a year old. Definitely worth looking into.

Didn't use all the grease, should I of?
