gear lever buzzing noises

Hi All, has anyone had gear lever buzzing noises due to engine vibrations? If so, how have you managed to fix it? Thanks.

My Ibiza TDI Sport used to do it badly, at idle and in 4th gear.

Never did manage to fix it, I just used to nudging the gearlever when sat idling, to stop the noise.

Think it's fairly common.

same problem, but rarely happens on mine now...same as muddy above, just nudge it and it stops

I think its normal as being a diesels nature its gona vibrate a little more.

Thats what I did and its improved matters, but I just sprayed alot of WD40 in using a straw so I didnt have to remove the air intake.

Have always had this vibration and noise, which has got progressively worse until the gear box broke!!!!! The new gear box has now cured the fault....so, you folks who have the same problem be very much warned and be ready to take out another mortgage to cover the repairs / new gearbox....!!!!!!
