Haven't had the chance yet. Wanted to do it tomorrow evening but one of the back brakes is sticking on so I have to sort that. If that is a quick job I will have a look at the dv tomorrow, if not it will be a Wednesday job!
Ok so a bit of an update. I managed to get the sticky rear brake sorted and also get the recirculating valve off to have a look. On initial inspection the valve looked in good condition still however once unscrewed I found that one of the rubbers inside had perished.
Any way long story short, I fitted the new service kit and refitted with the standard spring. I have just taken it for a drive and the problem is still exactly the same.
I have just this minute gone outside and changed over to the yellow spring so I will try that on the way to work tomorrow and let you know.
Stupid question coming - the 007p is a screw fit. Is there anything to be gained from unscrewing this slightly/halfway/having it up tight?
Just got mine come through the post, i faught id order one lol..
Hopefully changing the spring will make it ok for you pete! .. I take it that the red oil you get in the pack, just cover the new piston in it??

Yes that is for the piston. I changed the spring and the noise still remains unfortunately. Thought I would get a video up of the sound. It is a bit faint but you can definately hear the squeal in the background. Any ideas anyone?
Just noticed you also said about the battery light. I had this on my last test day, thought nothing of it as it went out again. Came back after lunch and the battery was too flat to start the car.
I replaced the electronic pack on the back of the alternator for about £20 and was good as new again, once I charge the battery.
So beware, the alternator light doesn't always come on when it's not charging.
