Yeah private you seem to get a much better deal! Think ill have to buy/sell private, Nice cupra going on here - White 07 34k miles iirc, stage1 300 bhp Looks some job

I think you'll be fine doing 5 miles I was doing nearly 20, 000 a year just for work. The only thing will be you'll have to do a few heavy foot runs to keep the condensation on the oil cap down due to the shorter journeys it can create the cream on the oil cap. I used to pay 240 a year for tax but may have gone up a little since then. Used to get around 28-32 mpg on a normal run and around 20-22 mpg with a spirited drive.

I'm not happy to see you. it's just my note 2 in my pocket.

Sorry for OT - but what do you mean about the heavy foot runs? I noticed a bit of "cream" under my oil cap when changing the oil last week.

I went from

MK2 Leon FR TDI PD170, Shark Stage2/Stage2+ tuned 216bhp/228bhp (Depending what map was turned on)

to

MK2 Leon Cupra R 2.0TFSI

At first the car felt fast but wasn't as fun to drive as a daily, totally missed the torque

Now

MK2 Leon Cupra R 2.0TFSI APR Stage2+

Total different league now has similar torque to the TDI but delivered in a different way, MPG is alot worse than the FR TDI (drive to work, 27mpg FR, 19mpg LCR) total power is amazing

Conlusion, I miss my FR, But the LCR is so much better

Is there much difference between a remapped FR TDI and a standard cupra? I know about 30bhp but what's the driving difference like?

As andrewjb said needs a good drive now and then. Get the engine nice and warm to burn the creamy stuff (condensation) off

I always thought it was a sign your head gasket was going? Surely any moisture I there will have a negative effect on the oil, lubrication and engine!

I went from FR TDI to Cupra, then from Cupra to FR tdi again

Miss the cupra so much. The FR is f*ckin awful in comparison. I hate everything about it apart from the MPG

Was averaging 22-24MPG in the cupra.

I get around 43MPG in the FR, 50-55MPG on a long journey.

If you get the creamy stuff on the dipstick then it could possibly be a problem but on the oil cap it is condensation from the engine not getting hot enough I.e. alot of short journeys, if you do a longer journey check the oil cap to see if it's gone then everything is ok mine did it for 2 years but went after longer journeys.

Hahahaha, You dont know what you want lol

One thing I'd say in favour of the stock Cupra vs remapped TDI is that the TDI has so much torque that it just feels a bit lazy.
It goes like a bomb...but makes no fuss of it at all. You don't really get a concept of speed. It just goes and the speedo is at stupid mph all of a sudden before you know it and all other cars are far in your rear view mirror.

The petrol (at least my old FR) makes more of a song and dance out of going fast and makes it a bit more enjoyable.
I know betty agrees with me on this one...

I went from a stage 2+ fr tdi mk2 to a stage 2+ Cupra r tfsi. Much more enjoyable car :) mine is more of a weekend you, but handling, interior, performance are much much better :)

The same here. Went from leon fr dpf delete 225bhp to a standard cupra. Now at stage 2+ in the cupra, but have always prefered everything about the cupra. Much more fun to drive

Dude...going to a stg2+ CupraR is an entirely different beast!! :p

That's crazy power that.

starting to compare apples with feckin massive giant oranges (or lemons in your case :))

But even going to the standard LCr it was quicker than my stage 2+ fr, and the handling was defiantly better and more fun with the flexibility of the rev range :)

This is true. I think the fun factor is so much higher on the petrols. No doubt.

But I get that fun in my MR2 now so I'm good.
Nowhere near the power of your lovely beast, but I've seen the light with a mid-engine
