im guessing it needs a new engine temp sensor and a new battery in the key fob but can anyone shed any light on the others please.

Coolant sensor or connections to coolant sensor.

Battery in the fob has nothing to do with the immobilizer / key codes you have. Check connection between pickup coil (at ignition lock) and immobilizer (in instrument cluster).

Nope, since it's in Address 17 (Instrument Cluster) it has nothing to do with the battery in the fob. The immobilizer transponder in the key is "passive" (powered by induction from the pickup coil).

The battery is for the remotes (which are handled by the locking system).
