Is it better to add things like a 007p DV and pannel filter before or after mapping?
Don't think it matters with ph.1 as it is only generic

Is it better to add things like a 007p DV and pannel filter before or after mapping?
If this is Ph 1 for £440, what do they do on Ph 2 and how much is it?
Do they do live mapping for Ph 2?
Did they do any before or after RR runs for Ph 1?
If they charge the same for Ph 2, ie another £440 you guys could save yourselves £380 and come up to Scotland for your maps.
For £500 Star performance will live map your car with a switchable map.
1 map, 1 time and before and after RR. this is done on the RR, so its a proper 'custom map' by nature not just by name.
I'm very surprised if they need to give it 2 Ph's to get to the same as Star will with one?
I can't see the benifit of mapping it twice when you can do it one and probably get the same figures at the end for both.
will be interested to hear how this works
Found this on the C-C section
Because C-C P1 is already on there you get 40% discount on C-C P2 price so that comes to £338.40 inc VAT
So I've answered my own question
£440 + £338 = £778
Ph1 + Ph 2
yup thats all fair enough, my thoughts are £250 is better in my pocket than someone elses.
With a live map you can get any car set up you want, tailor made for your car, with a generic you get what the test car got no matter what your car is like.
As long as your happy that is the main thing.
I'm going down the mapping route too but I will be getting the car live mapped as I want a specific set up not just a generic map
I have done front upper strutt brace, new front anti roll bar, poly bushes in the front suspension, rear ARB (28mm) and dog bone bushes.
Forge turbo hoses, Forge eliminator DV, BMC CDA CAI and 2.75 CAT back exhaust.
New will be the 3" DP and 200 cell CAT.
What I want to find out is what can the car do by getting more cold air in and allowing the exhaust gases to get out easier then see what the car is supposed to be like if it was properly designed.
After that will get a live re map and see what the baby can do
Don't think anyone else has gone down this route with out a re map so will be interesting to see what the car will feel like.
Then get re map and see the difference.
I like to mod gradually so can feel each change and notice the benifit
One day will go the big turbo route once the car is a bit older and no longer a family car.
If you've not had the dog bone mount bushes change, get it done, for £30 there is a big difference
Sounds like this would suit some people butJust to put everyone straight on the custom-code maps the ph1 maps are generic in that they only raise the engines performance by so much using all the standard parts of the car! But there are 100's of different maps that are determined by software coding as well as ecu no's so they are 'generic' maps but are still specific to the cars ecu also custom code maps come with custom-settings software which can be used via vag-com which allows the user to modify parameters of the maps! The ph2 re-map takes into account other mods that the car has such as sports cat and system + free flow airfilter etc again these start as such as a generic map but are modified by custom-code before being uploaded to the car then if the car dosent quite do what we expect it to we will use custom settings to further modify the map (i havnt actually had to do this yet as most of the maps are tried and tested) The ph3 custom-code is the true custom map as it takes into account major changes to the engine as a whole and cars have been mapped upto 600bhp on original ecu and wiring.
Anyway terminoligy aside i know as i drive a ph2 car every day that custom-code works day in day out with only normal vag problems arising and has been totally reliable since the day i put it on the car.
Thanx

Sounds like this would suit some people but
At the end of the day you can only map a car to a maximum figure based on fuel, air flow, turbo and engine capacity.
Can't see any point in Ph 1, Ph 2 maybe would be good for some but the only true map is Ph 3
Can you get Ph 3 straight away or do you have to jump through Ph 1,2 hoops first?
