GSD3s and Punctures

I had 4 new Eagle F1s fitted in January time and I've never had so much trouble with punctures since. I've had no less than 4 punctures in 3 tyres, resulting in new tyres having to be bought for two of them.

Has anyone else had similar issues or am I suffering from having either a neighbour that hates me or driving on A/B roads for my commute on softer tyres?

GSD3's are well known for suffering from pressure bulges and punctures.

Nails. Which is odd as I'm always careful what I drove over etc. and haven't had this prob before these tyres. One just had a sodding great big hole in it, whatever caused it was long gone.

a nail will pretty much go through any tyre though, i would say just bad luck. I went over a bit of metal on the motor way when I had an LCR with GDS3s, had to slam on the brakes and swerve into the side, when I saw the size of the rip i was supprised how well it stood up. It was shredded but still managed to control it.

Out of all the different makes & types of tyres I've had on various cars over the years, the worst for getting punctures has been the GSD3's One was a nail, one was a screw, one was a cladding pin/nail and probably the most annoying was a thorn after following a hedge cutting tractor through a country lane!!

As people have said though, any tyre could pick up nails & screws I like to think I'm careful where I drive, but have still picked up the odd nail & screw here & there.

I had my two fronts develop bulges, and while I was there getting them replaced they found 4 nails in one rear tyre and 6 in the other. Now, that's bad luck.

I put it down to careless builders on a site I drive past to get to work.

If it's nails, it really doesn't matter what tyre you have fitted, it's going to get punctured!

A nail will go through almost any tyre. Depending on where it is on the tyre will determine whether it can be repaired or not and by general rule of thumb, the closer to the side wall, the more likely it won't be fit for repair.
