It didn't seem that long ago when a gt28rs was a bt set up. but now thats like having your car chipped over there.

I think there must be a secret plan being hatched in the USA to power the next NASA space probe with the 1.8T motor - using a Garrett GT9990000 - and 100 bar boost :-o -is there no end to the talentsof this motor:funk:

All this big power talk lately is beginning to give me itchy feet - might have to go back to the drawing board

What spec you running at the mo then songman?

And hows that money tree growing, you watering it regularly?

 :cartman:

The pursuit of raw power has reduced me to a pauper - if you ever come to Glasgow you`ll find me down on Argyll St with the banjo and the monkey:rocker: singin for a shillin towards my petrol money:whistle:

Anyway i`m an `also ran` now - way behind all these big power boys like Bill, Eddy, James, and Caney:coolthumb

you need to get yourself a 4wd conversion 1st :)

make some use of the power then.

Intresting thought that, Bill - It had crossed my mind too but I am not sure if it is possible to use the 4WD hardware with the UK LCR FWD bodyshell

Funnily enough, when I first started to look at the Leon , four years ago,I read all the comics and decided that I would have the 4WD 1.8T Leon `when it became available in the UK` and then buy APR stage 3 - easy i thought, and all would be fine!! - OK don`t laugh:rolleyes: - I didn`t realise then that I had more chance of winning the Lottery than I had of ever getting my hands on either of these two products.

Sadly I have to say that now, fours years on, both these products are still not available to us in the UK - much to the detriment of both companies - I though, four years ago that the combination of those two products would have produced a bombshell to really rock `hot-hatch`market - It would have been a `must have` product which would have had tremendous spinoffs for both companies - unfortunately that was not to be.

APR stage 3 offered 290 bhp then, and that was though to be incredible - now,as the thread seeks to illustrate, we all seem to feel disadvantaged if we don`t have 400+bhp:blink: - we all seem so fixated with the idea that Dyno readouts alone, are the sole measure of a car`s ability to please and entertain

Even now, I find myself getting caught up in a feeling of discontent with my paltry 367 bhp - then I take the car out for a drive, scare the living daylights out of myself:help: and always come back to the same question - not so much `do I need more power`, more `can I actually utilise it to any significant effect on the public road`

In the final analysis, whatever the merits/disadvantages of particular BT kits and their respective power outputs - IHI or Garret - fitted and set up correctly, either one of these kits will give you the `drive of your life in you humble Seat - the ultimate `Hot Hatch` experience without doubt.:funk:

I just hope to encourage more folks - should their budgets allow - to grasp the nettle, raid the piggy bank, go for it, and get one of these kits fitted, whlst the going`s good - we are now in ,`the Halcyon days` for all who love `modding` cars.

There are dark clouds on the horizon ahead guaranteed to spoil our fun bigtime:ban:

govmnt buggers have the potential to destroy many 1000's of jobs in aftermarket inductry. not a happy thought.
