Gti 16v or Cupra?

Ihave a 1998 Seat Ibiza and am confused as I have only had it a month or so, and ever since I have not known if its a cupra or not.
The log book says Gti 16v 2.0 litre but the car has the silver 16 inch cupra wheels and the computer which i thought were only on the cupra (according to a parkers guide i have)?
Could these just be optional extras? Traction control is standard too right?

it could be both mine is a 2.0 8v gti cupra sport there was some that was both as they were changing from gti to cupras

Does yours have aircon and sunroof, if it does its probably the GTi 16v and not the cupra. My GTi 16v came with the cupra 16" wheels as well.

i'd guess yours is a 2.0 gti 16v (not cupra sport)

from memory the extras were usually on the gti's and the lower models were badged up cupra sport to sell em out - even a Cupra 2 about to confuse matters but thats a rare one and none had traction that i know of

dont confuse em with the 99 on CUPRA thats a 20VT whole different model (mk3) well sort of

so many variations/specs on early cars as time to new model came close and i started in SEAT just as they phased out so not sure on the earlier ones

Mine is a 1998 R-reg Gti 16v (log book), with cupra 16inch wheels, the computer, air-con, sunroof, traction control (feels like its got it, especially in wet), and thats all the extras!

from what i see, the gti is the higher spec'd car. iv got the 8v but its got sunroof passanger airbag etc. were the cupra dosnt if i recall.

Traction and sunroof, who needs them, never use them on other cars so lighter and better for it Aircon might be nice for the 3 days I'd use it out of need, but just drive a differentcar if I really want it

It all seems so complicated!

P.S. I wouldnt choose some of the options I have, but you cant be too picky with rare and popular cars, especially when good condition!

I personally dont like sunroofs- if u havent got one then it cant leak, and i hate air con- needs servicing, extra weight, takes power from engine when in use, not needed much over here, and more to go wrong! Plus i open the window when i get hot (on my previous cars i mean, as only had car since Jan 05).

mines a 1999 ibiza cupra gti sport, its got 15" 5 spoked seat alloys, an electric sunroof, abs, the computer - but no a/c or leather seats yet the seats are like bucket type. it was the last of the mk2 though so its a decent setup

I have a Cupra Sport GTI 16V and mine aint got a sunroof or aircon, aint got traction control either. Its got the half leather trim, trip comp & white 16" alloys. I was condfused as i'd have thought it should have air con?
