On Sunday noticed something strange on one of the tyres. A closer look saw complete failure of both external and internal side walls!

This happened on one tyre only, the other 3 looked fine, so maybe a one off ?

Anyone experienced this?

Not sure however I ran V12's on my LCR for nearly 2 years.
I tracked them twice and they held up exceptionally well to the forces put on them (From a very stiff track ready LCR)

What are the tyre pressures like all round?
Sometimes you can lose pressure/cause damage to the tyre due to damaged wheels

I've never heard of it, if everything looks fine I'd be contacting Hankook Directly!

Had the same issue with Marshal tyres, At the time I was a bit short of cash and thought I was saving a few quid, BIG MISTAKE.

Got a real hard vibration on the steering wheel on the motorway at 70mph so went straight back to the shop where I got them from and on inspection it was a scary site considering I could have killed my whole family in the car,

There were only on there for 9 months and I don't do a lot of miles to be honest and the tyres still had more then half the tread left on them when the problem was discovered,

Outside facing wall was fine but the inner wall on both fronts well say no more,

Needless to say I wont be using Marshal tyres ever again in my lifetime and the car has a full set of Yoko Parada's on it and they are great and very grippy.

Atb Harry.

Here are the links.

Have contacted Hankook, they advised to return tyre to where it was purchased. That is how far they went with this. Don't think I will return to them so soon.

As for the reason, I would say it was a faulty one, as the other front tyre did not have any signs of cracking, and the rear ones are still in the car.

To be honest taking it back to the place of purchase is probably the right thing to do but its a bit of a crap situation. I've never seen a hankook fail like that before, Very unfortunate!
