Specifically, I need to know whats on the 30,000 mile service. Been quoted £205 from SEAT and £100 from VW for a 30k service.

It would be handy to know whats in each service if someone has a handly clicky link for each service though.

Ta,

Horace

Looks like a basic service

A Minor or Basic Service would typically include the items below

A typical Basic Service would include the items below

• > Oil & Oil Filter Change
• > Pollen Filter
• > Screen Wash & Washer bottle top up
• > Level checks of oil, anti freeze, P.A.S fluid etc
• > Tyre condition & limit checks
• > All lights checked & bulbs replaced if required
• > Wiper blades condition checked
• > Vehicle safety check (Seat belts etc) and general mechanical condition.

Looks like a lot of checking, and not a lot of doing for £205

Thanks mate. Seems that the service can vary by as much as £85, even between SEAT garages after a quick check.

The might have included a brake fluid change as well into that price... But you may have done that already?

Yip. Brake fluid is in the 20k service. Seems that either the oil or the 20 mins labour to do it is very expensive at the local dealer. They even charge a premium price for the Cupra over the TFSi for the same service.

for anyone that is able to check oil / fluid levels themselves, the basic service is very little for the money.

Whatever you do, dont assume the brake fluid change is included in the price just because its on a shedule somewhere. Many garages do not include this unless specifically asked to do it as then they can quote more competitive pricing.

You are correct. I paid extra to have the brake fluid done at the last service, and it was still cheaper than the 20k service from SEAT without the brake fluid change. Snag is I have a VW main dealer stamp rather than a SEAT one, but that really should make no difference as they use the same oil and parts.
