I have had a good search and I cant find much. Basicaly I want to change the alana unit for something better. I currently have a jvc axv2 but this wont work with the steering wheel controls. Does anyone no a way round this or can recommend a HU that works with the steering wheel.

Thanks

you need an adapter from the steering wheel to the radio, youd be best off calling a car audio place to see if they make one for your specific car, i had a look for myself in the beginning but there were so many different ones and types for different versions of systems that i didnt bother, and they were for VWs which the man said would work, but it wasnt his £50 on the line if it didnt

I checked this with a few audio shops that said there is nothing out at the mo with an adaptor so u can use the steering wheel controls

Hi

I have the new Ibiza DAB and it has stearing wheel controls. The radio that comes with that is a Blaubunkt not the standard head unit.

Controls on the wheel work fine with this

Hope this helps

Whats the Blaubunkt unit like?? Any pre in/outs??

Eh, this is where I am not too technical. It has cd changer in, aux in. and it has output for a sub etc, not sure what else, great sound though. I had an ibiza before this one with the standard head, and the blaubunkt is far better

Cheers AEM, mite look into gettin one. Want to keep the steering wheel controls because of that new law that can do ya for changin ur radio station while the cars moving

Not heard about that new law, bit of a pain that!!!

You wont be dissapointed with this head unit,

cheers

Thanks for your replys. It turns out the car doesnt come with the steering controls. Turns out it was a late build before they changed the specs.
