i have the ALANA headunit in my car, to connect to an amp will i need to buy a new headunit with pre-outs or does the seat one already have them?

There is a lead you can buy that will give you pre-outs and a remote lead.

they were good with me, but personally i would consider swapping out the alana unit anyway, it gave me no end of hastle epecially with mp3 cds.

does the alana unit play mp3 cd's? didnt know it did! ive seen this on car audio centre and im very tempted to buy it, do you know what the output is of the headunit? Someone told me 4x22w but i wasnt sure

Got mine fitted and what a difference.Your Alana will say on the top right corner if its MP3. Mine did, but it was an option.
ive got a jvc unit, they are not anything special but reasonable value for money, and with the orange lights on it matches the dash lights very well.
ive always had jvc, they dont last for ever but my last one lasted about 7 years before the cd mechanism gave up.

This is a good price but factor in the additional parts if you have steering wheel control. If you are looking at Sony then the 501UI has an excellent iPod interface, not sure it has st. wheel control capability though.

I think you have been very lucky. My experience says Good on value, Shocking on build quality and longevity.

About £90, and i dont have an ipod i have a creative MuVo so thats why i was looking to get the sony unit
