I see. On non-airbag seats shouldn't be that much of a problem. Having not seen the heating element, might just be a matter of opening a small area of stiching and sliding the element under the fabric - but as stated, then you have all the controls and wiring to fit also.

Sounds alot of hastle for a small luxury tbh? But different people have different needs, so down to personal preference. For the price it'll cost Id like the seat to massage while it heats - like what top end BM's can do! :D

I don't think my car takes that long to warm up.

I have warm air coming out the heaters after about 3 or 4 minutes running - never had a problem.

The Toledo was closer to 10 minutes right enough.
 
anairlock in the coolant system can cause the heaters to take ages to heat up as it takes a while to go round into the heater matrix behind the dash ;)
 
What are you lot like - you talk about wanting BIG horsepower, big alloys, re-maps, mean looking bumpers, etc... Then when it comes down to it, complain about the cold and want heated seats! :p :D

.....heated seats are FOR GIRLSSS !! ;)

think the best bet would be to ask seat if you can buy a complete seat with the elements already in and it might all be plug and play i cant see the looms been that different from euro models
 
I'm up at five every morning cos i work shifts, only takes about three minutes to heat up to max on the climate control and thats roasting!
If you need a warm bum then swap your seats for a VWAG equavalent seat with heating elements in and get them wired in. Audi seats will fit i think

What makes me laugh are the people driving round in a Vauxhall Astra convertible!

Vauxhall: " Oh, lets make one of our cars a convertible so we can try and compete with every other manufacturer that also has a convertible. Lets use the Astra!!! "....... What a fcuking joke of a car that is.

Why do people spend £10,000 for one of those - Its an Astra, its an A to B car... a car to be flogged up and down the motorways by Salesmen.
There's nothing cool or elite about it - tacky is what I'd call it. [:@]

Probably more supportive than the Ibiza seats as well.

Any idea if the airbags would be compatible ?
 
What - as in did they fit heated seats abroad ?
They did - it was part of the Winter pack that I was offered when I bought mine in 2003. However the factory said they couldn't fit the winter pack to a RHD car for some bizarre reason, never knew why. But heated seats were definitely an option.

Rather than forking out for complete new seats (too expensive - and no fun :D ) I wondered how easy it was to retro-fit the relevant parts...
 
the loom is prabably wrong for the RHD cars but it would yes imo be posible to retro fit them take seat cover off attach elements to seats wire them up and replace seat covers and attach them to a switch on the dash

the only real way to find out is to buy the lhd stuff and try fitting it but who's willing to loose out on £££ to find out?
 
Maybe the wiring loom was the reason....it could be wired in with other stuff that gets moved on RHD cars. Guess it would take some in depth ETKA research to find out !

On the other hand they could have just been playing awkward buggers because it was obvious the car was for import, and the manufacturers didn't like that :think:
 
Maybe i'm just old school, but do you need a matrix? Just wire it directly (fused) to the battery and put a discreet switch somewhere?
