It was really cold today and the car was iced up (the temp displayed -1.5) so I ran it for about 10 mins to warm up before turning it off to go inside.
When I came out 5 min later and turned on the ignition the air/con heater display showed every numeral on the lcd screen! It then began to flash with a full lcd display then blank etc.

I turned the ignition off and back on again a few times and the same thing happened. Getting slightly worried I started the car and the display turned back to normal except the temperature display now read 9.0c ?

I drove the car a few miles and the temp slowly fell to around 2.5 c which is about right.

The display now seems fine when turning on and the temp has returned to normal its wierd.

Has anyone had this full lcd display flashing before?

heater display

Hi, i'd try disconnecting the battery for 10 mins..

Or if your lucky enough to have a model under warranty still.. get seat to sort it!!

I am hoping it does not happen again :( I didnt know if it was some kind of code with the series of flashes. Its due a service in march which may flag something up, its weird the car drove fine

The flashing tells you that the system has detected low refrigeration gas pressure. I think that the cold makes the gas contract a little so in normal weather/temps you will prob be fine. Look into getting the system regassed if it does it once the weather worms up.

Thanks Nath :D

It was a bloody cold morning and the car had sat through a couple of days of freezing weather which could contract anything. As long as it nothing serious :funk:

hey krussel the same thing happened to me the other day, it stopped after a while so i think all is fine. it was the same as you said, it was proper cold so i think thats what the problem is. also i think i need to get my AC re gassed as some point.

Exactly same thing is happening to me, up in Scotland. Seems to be happening on the really cold days and usually when I've had the car sitting parked for a day without use.

Doesn't do it in normal weather conditions. Go away snow, :(.

Mine s not done it since and we have had -2 or -3 but nothing like the last big freeze so i am hoping thats all it was.
