Heater Motor packed up

My heater fan motor has packed up, the other night it were making squeaking noises and now doesn't seem to want to come on at all. So now i need to remove it and check out the problem.

Can someone please tell me how to remove it?

Best thing to do is get a mk4 golf haynes manual or check out the vw vortex forum for the diy section. doesnt sound a fun job though!
