Hi guys

I am trying to solve the heavy MK2 clutch problem which i'm told is largely due to the self adjustable cable, question is does anyone or can anyone find out which manually adjustable clutch cable fits the mk2 ibiza or 020 box.

Its not heavy for a MK2, but its too heavy for me now unfortunately.

i had the same problem so when i fitted my new flywheel i fitted a new clutch kit and new cable. was perfect but now a month and 1000miles later it is heavy again.

mine was stiff but after pedal box was ok then stiff and after new cable was ok then went stiff and ok after 3rd gearbox

seems ok at moment just a little creaky and yes it is the cable just drying up

when i find a tdi breaking up it's going back to hydraulic

16v box was a hydraulic clutch that was then converted to cable for some god knows why reason and yes you can use the tdi + mk3 golf bits to do it but it is indeed a pain as it's not a saturday am bolt in job sadly

next time my engine's out it will be going in though

modifying and changing the angle on the Vag Cable converter would do it too along the same lines as that but good idea that

sort of like a quickshift in reverse'ish principle

shame i've only got one in the car as i'd love to mod one up and see what could be done to make it lighter
