Help with turbos?!?!

Turbo answer!!!

Hi again, just thought I'd type a quick post wilst I'm holding back the tears!

The mechanic has ad a look at it and basically this is how I understand it:

The turbo failed, completely, when it did it sucked all the oil through and dumped it all straight through to the cat!

Once there was no oil left the chain cam thing at the back of the engine skipped and knocked all the valves and pistons out of time ( I think we all know how many cylinders/ valves that means).
S o now my choice seems either to take it apart and try and mend it, with a new turbo or get a new engine, with a new turbo.:cry::cry::cry::cry:

Ohh dear.... i feel for ya mate i personally would go for the repair option but depends on how confident you are about working with engines i suppose

Nice one mate.


Done a compression check on the cylinders all seem to be up to pressure?!?!?!?

I'm now presuming everything's fine and just going for a straight up turbo replacement.

Is there anything I should check engine wise any way even though all pressures are showing up fine?!?!:confused:
