can you tell me if you are all getting an audiable whoosh (dump)
in every gear with a split r DV
as once i get past 4th no matter how much i cane it there is definately nothing there.

Im wondering if i am loosing boost pressure at top end

or if my waste gate is dumping too much boost

You will only get a 'dump' if you come off boost quickly. This would be more obvious in lower gears as you would slow faster with more engine breaking.

Getting a 'woosh' is not a good thing. Far from it in fact as it means all that effort you went to to get on boost has just been lost!

PLus I think you need to change the title of the thread, (you'll need an admin to do it)... surely it should say "Heres one for the split R owners " not "Heres one of the split R owners"..

Maybe why not alot of replies are coming?

Mike

all ready spotted that mate and changed but thanks

you can here a dump on mine but its not like an atmospheric, its audible and you can tell its there but its not really loud. i dont think they are supposed to be LOUD, just audible if its setup right

Mine makes the sound in every gear. I had to tweak it a bit at first because I think I was losing boost pressure at top end. Not sure how many turns I have it setup on but I still need to fine turn when it has bedded in. Between 2 and 2 1/2 turns.

It would be nice to find out what other LCR owners have tuned their's to for both standard and remapped boost pressure.

Mine gives the sound in every gear but mine is fully atmospheric. I think it still made the sound when i first put it on when it was semi recirc.
Don't if that helps

what do you mean richybigman ours is fuly atmospheric?
what valve do you have?

the split R is a recirc valve with partial blow off.
the amount of blow off cannot be changed

Yeah that's what Forge told me the blank plate is to really turn the Split R into a 007p and not vent at all.

Yeah i agree on that or if forge could come forward with some research on it or something.

But I have now turned mine 2 3/4 and it seems to have picked up now

Rich i think you've got the wrong end of the stick mate.
You cant use the split R as a atmospheric valve as far as forge are concerned.

vag engines generally do not like atmospheric valves at all.
but if you look at the other thread i have posted "old dreaded BOV" you will see baileys are claiming that they do have ont that will work and i am in the process of trying that out

your right G2232, its not fully atmo. Its half and half otherwise the ECU would throw a hissy fit as it would think its loosing boost

thats why forge designed it, to be half and half, to fool the ecu and vent SOME to the atmosphere

To be a bit more precise its not even half and half its more like 40% Blow off at the very most prob much less hence the much quieter hiss
