Not 100% really, dont want to see her scrapped but looking at £550 to have the head skimmed, polished and ported, a new cambelt fitted, and a new head gasket.

Plus then theres the bodywork that needs repairing costing £250 (my fault admittedly).

So thats £800

pick up a 2nd hand ABF, and swap it out.

if you have flat drive, and a couple of mates it's very easy.

Good idea, however, my drive isnt flat, i know sod all about mechanics and ABF's seem to be going for around £400 which isn't much of a saving considering the swap engine might have its own issues.

I'd love another 2.0 8v Ibiza GTi to be totally honest but i'm just in the middle of buying my first house so i dont think a new car is going to be on the cards, as if i do go for another car its going to have to be immaculate and low mileage which means a large sum of money.

Think i might be better off with the devil i know

Right well due to the demise of its intended replacement the cordy is alive and kicking again!!!

£685.00 in total, all belts replaced, head skimmed and polished, all new fuel lines, new spark plugs, new coolant and it goes like stink! I'm grinning from ear to ear, my mrs however is cursing its existence as usual.
