You can learn a lot by doing a forum search. Power loss problems are discussed a lot, and there can be multiple reasons for this. You can spend a good few hours reading through what people already tried.

if it makes that noise then it is possible, although not a certainty, that you are running a blow off valve instead of a recirc valve.

That could cause power loss issues, although I would be suprised if it caused the issues intermittently.

There are an awful lot of reasons why you might experience power loss issues, some are quick fixes others are not.

The first thing you should really do is check all your hoses for splits and make sure none have become disconnected.

Then you could do with getting your car on a diagnostic machine, either by taking it to a auto electrician or by putting out a request in the vag com section of the forum for someone local to you to give you a hand.

We can only guess as to what the problem MIGHT be without any more info. It's really up to you to do a bit of detective work here.

aint gotta clue if something major was wrong wouldn.t a warning light have come on??

no but the funny thing is ........ if i park on a hill (passenger side lower than drivers side)
then it smokes it a**e off
