Hi All,
im a newbie to the forum so wanna say Hi. I am now a very proud owner of a Cupra R 225 in Ovni Yellow and i cant wait to get started! plus its only got 34k on the clock! 05 plate!
I use to own a ford focus and i did a lot of mods on this car (well as much as you can do on a N/A engine!)

I will be posting pics up soon of my ride. Been looking through the forums alot and iv already written a wish list! but i will add my wish list on and then you guys can comment (argue) on whats best

Be great to meet up for meets and things too - i live in Southampton, Hampshire!

Great choice.

Make sure you take care of that paintwork, OVNI is pretty prone to fading quite badly.

Now heres the wish list - within the next couple of years i want to do most of this if not all.
Your views/opinions and help would be greatly appreciated! I will do most of it myself and keep you all updated (on new threads) and ill include step by step for you guys that want to do it to!

Door Handle LED - basically on the BMW 1 Series they have a white LED thats behind the door handles (exterior) and they turn on when you unlock the car - they are linked to the interior light and then they fade off when you start the car and on when you stop etc..
Was planning on doing it soon and then came across another really nice white cupra that has it - or had it done. It was Project Stormtrooper a guy called Jake i belive after looking through the Forums!

Also the 5.3l water tank is the Audi S3 water tank - they also have a very nice plastic cover the reaches over and covers all except the water tank lid and the coolant lid - but only fits for the 5.3l water tank not our standard 3l

They fit (5mm) LED in the handle right next to where the handle opens - have you have to drill through the door though.... but once in and sealed i think it will look awesome! gonna be doing it in the new year for sure, very cheap to do i will post a guide and pics of course once its done

Just deciding whether performance or style first... Im thinking performance, but the imfamouse yellow mellow needs some work, every panel is a different colour - a very common flaw i am aware - but an 05 cupra r 225 in mint condition (in yellow) with 35k on the clock for £6k cant say no!

I would work on bringing the car upto as fresh as you can and doing all the geeky things people overlook, like engine mounts, dogbone mount etc 1st. Full service with decent oil in, cambelt/uprated waterpump etc all done. Think of it as getting the car fresh for bigger power so she's ready... A simple dogbone mount upgrade will help you get the power down much better with significantly reduced wheel hop. Get it running on good super unleaded like v power or tesco 99 and then get on with the power hike mods. That's the way I will do my next car for sure. My current one has been a bit back and forth but looking back I'd do it that way if I was starting now.

For the yellow fade, set aside £1-2k for a decent full respray. It's your only option really mate. Check JamJay's reader's ride thread on here. Some great info and pictures of his before and after pics on his ovni LCR full respray. It looks fantastic in the flesh too, I've seen it

Can't argue with the price you got it for. Bargain!
