hid ballasts

i went to fit my hid kit to my car yesterday i previously had the kit on my old car. i only wanted to see how blue they were going to be as there 8000k. when i connected it as i only tryed the one and one ballast the ballast was whineing i couldnt remember if they used to do that so before i fit them i thought id ask on here. so does anyone elses ballast whine? thanks in advance.

mine does have a small amount of noise like any transformer does, depends how much would be your next question...

Yeah! Nothing to worry about mine did, quite loudly, on the Grande.

same slight whining sound, been on the car over a year no problems apart from the nut holding earth wire loosening and making one ballast die

thanks everyone i will fit them at the weekend i was just a bit concerned as i coudnt remember if they used to do it or not,i knew i could rely on all of you which is why i thought id wait to see what you all had to say. thank you all.
