Hi, i recently purchased a HID kit from HIDs4u and the 501 sidelight bulbs supplied dont fit  the plastic base seems to bit a bit too wide to fit in! Has anyone else had this problem?

Cheers rory

alryt mate, i fitted mine yesterday had a bit of a problem but you've gotta push hard to get them in, and if they dont work, take the bulb out rotate it 180 degrees and put it back in.

Yer i did try but i didnt want to break them, will give another bash at it then. Yer coz of the positive/negative, gotta wait on my hids atm tho as they were out of stock after i bought them! Grrrr ohwell gd come to those who wait lol.

Cheers fella

Had this on Sat with my new bulbs, just take a file to the edges and take about 1-2mm off the corners.

Should slot right in then.

Yer i did think that but wernt too sureif the was any elements underneath that cud get damaged, but cheers for the infor guys. Bet ya lights look the muts nuts, cnt wait for mine

Ohrite, well i had to have the ultimate because of the year of my car. But i liked that they had blueish tint

ive had nothing but problems with the HIDS4U LED bulbs so now i have changed to a different style of LED bulbs from autobulbs direct.

It looks a real arsepain to change the sidelights. Are there any tips om making it easier?

there is 2 ways.........

1. cut the **** out you hands to change them (need skinny hands and arms)
2. take the bumper and headlights out and change them (take about half hour to get them off)

its easy, 5 screws in each wheel arch, 4 under the bonnet, 6 under the bumper and 2 behind the fog light grilles (if pre facelift) or 2 in the centre grille (for facelift). unplug fogs and temp sensor (if prefacelift) and lift clear. headlights is 2 screw on top and 2 screws on the under side

Thanks for the info. I think mine's pre-facelift with the old bumper. I noticed a screw either side of the fog lamp, seemed a bit awkward to get to. I will do it though, cos I want to change the bulbs in the fogs.

Are you trying to fit dipped or main beam?

Heres mine, 6000k:

Guffers how long you had them fitted? I have never bought LED to go with my HIDs cos everyone on here who has fitted them has said they blow frequently and they are not as cheap obviously as halogens to replace and I don't want to have to change them all the time what a pain. Also everyone I have asked that has got them has not had them more than a couple of months so I'm still put off!
