i tried that and thats the one that turns it left and right....is there another one for the vertical movement

If I remember correctly for the outboard one you have to put the allen key through the slam panel(this does the horizontal), and for the inboard(vertical) the key goes just behind the panel.
Look under the slam panel and you should see the white plastic adjusters.

Thats bizarre, That one on mine Adjusts Vertical height
I'm sorry I've not seen the other one

Do you have two headlight bulbs or just one big one?
Mine has two, one for low and one for high beams

Mine too.
That said, I just fitted hid`s to a mate`s mk4 golf and the adjusters were the other way round.

Looks like you have the facelift mk4 Knight, maybe the adjusters are the other way round too?

ok well i looked and all i can see is the white adjuster for the headlight and the one for the full beam and both do the horizontal movement and i cant see another one for the vertical movement...any ideas?

picutres??

That one is for height on mine too, the other one is just out of pic to the left on the other side of the lamp - you need to put the allen key through the slam panel to get to it.

Don`t get my car back till monday so I can`t take a pic right now

cheers for the pic...on my one that adjusts the left and right...plus i have another one right next to it but that adjust the left and right for the main beam....

im taking it to an mot place tomorrow

right took it to an MOT place but they said the light level was fine...but the actual light was being dispersed 3 ways...is this something wrong with the actual bulb? anyone else had this problem?

no dont think so....

what i think i may do...is set the adjustment to 0, then try manually adjusting them down with allen key, then adjust them down to -2 or -3...

the MOT place said they were aligned fine, it was just the light was coming out in 3 directions...this was causing the glare

other wise im going to sack them off and go back to the orignals!

well yea they kinda where...bought the ones from Diane shop on ebay...quite a few people on here have had no problem with them at all, im going to have one last attempt tonight or im gonna put the old ones in...fed up now lol!

well think i have done it! touch wood

however think only one of the headlights is moving...dunno why the other one is not? maybe the mechanism may be broken? but they are definately lower!

I had the same problem with mine - the adjusters on the top of the headlight unit did sort it - just trial and error. Don't get flashed now. Put some Osram Nightbreakers in for the main beam and you'll be sorted!!

and they are? hahaha

the left headlight i think the adjuster may be broken as its quite difficult to move, got them alot lower so shouldnt cause any problems now
