Hmm... are you using H4 bulbs then or did you get them changed? Didn't think they would sit in securely?

pretty sure he's using the H7s m8!

My HID's have finally arrived, and I am very happy with the service. I put the wrong order in i ordered H4 instead of H7 short. Ok yes so there is a bit of difference there! lol. Anyways me and my dad have really struggled fitting them. Firstly I attacked the side lights, dropped the dust cover and it's now found it's way down right into the hole (drivers side) near the intercooler...silly billy! They've been fitted tho took me about half hour to do both sides. However, fitting the HID's is another story. What a job it is. Started the passenger side, as looked easiest for access. Its taken us both approx 2.5hrs to do the passenger side figgering out what goes where, what was best to do first etc, then it looked like we'd busted the black wiring, luckily it's only the insulation bit thats ripped! Switched ignition on to test after fitting was completed and secured, didn't work. Switched engine on, bulb still didn't work. So dad came up with an idea, "try swopping the two red spade connectors. " This mean't taking the dust cover off the back of the bulb again...nightmare! Swopped them round, and finally the bulb switched on absolutely made up that it works. Doing the drivers side one tomorrow. Nearly gave up half way into it, dad was getting really aggreviated and stressed out, don't blame him. I was there really to stop temper fraying lol.

Sorry to hear you're having a tough time m8! I can see where you're coming from. In theory it's a piece of cake...but depending on the length of the wires etc, it is a pig getting the dust cover's back on and fitting the bulbs at the same time!

Although as i'm sure you'll agree, it's worth the effort!

Good luck with the other side m8!

Get some pics up too!

Well Dave to be honest, I wouldn't of done it without this thread, so it's a credit to you mate!

I ordered the H4 kit off HID4U  , realised it was wrong after re-reading another thread  , so I rang them first thing Monday morning to tell them. "I've made a ****-up of my order, any chance you can change it for me?" lol They sent me the correct fitment no quibbles, helpful even if they did sound bored! Monday morning blues lol. So what I got in the end was single fillament H7 Short bulb kit. At first it looked like it wouldn't fit. The black cylinder on the back of the bulb had to be removed to fit into my cars bulb socket one and only mod of the kit. Took two pics of where I've placed the ballasts. Will take a photo of the difference of the bulbs shortly Halogen v Xenon. Once all completed I will put up the pics. The bulb that is fitted looks amazing! Looks very blue up close but the actual light on the road emitted is the purest white! I've fit the expensive LED sidelights and what a difference they make, all in all very impressed! The service offered by HID4U and also of the fitting and off-course the result. Can't wait to get the driver's side light sorted tomorrow! Out cruising on Tuesday night, so will look ace!

glad i could be of service :)

the black cylinder on the back of the bulb you're talking about...was this a kinda of rubber with a slit down it so you could remove it? If so, you're meant to remove it anyway! lol :p

Good luck today m8!

That price is quite reasonable, I have been quoted over £220 for a single bulb kit for my motorcycle. If you want to be ripped off, get two wheels.

buy a car kit and split it with a biker mate ;) that is if its fitted with a car type bulb

i'm all for a GOOD HID kit but to be honest all the local toyota carina taxi drivers all seem to have the optinal cheap ass wide glare kits that are just plain dangerous

latest Renault Laguna std equipment isnt far off the same crap as well - hell how can they glow up a headlining and sun visors from 10m behind ? :censored:

They look good m8. Glad you got them fitted ok!

One question, which kit did you go for? Those ballasts look different to mine!

I went for their Ultimate kit btw.

I've seen yours in action beside dominos about a week ago and damn when you had full beam on in the alley it was like day light.

I'm very tempted when I get some money together to get a set of HID's for my ibiza but thats a while down the line and I'll probably spend about a month deciding which to buy.

Just a little note guys. If any of you read the instructions you got with your HID's most of them will advise that you should avoid switching them off and off rapidly.

If you have a set in your main beam lenses when you flash people in the street then this can't be good for them - if your driving in a busy street flashing a good number of times the lifespan of the bulb may depreciate very quickly.

Maybe they are different now, but my first set of HID's I fitted a couple of years ago said this as I wanted a set for my main beams too... so I've given it a miss.

That is a very good point. It says the same in the kit I bought, thats why allot of manufactures that fit BI-xenon as standard, back them up with a halogen unit. My dad's new leon has a bi-xenon kit, and although it uses a double filament xenon bulb, for quick flashes it uses the halogen. Although if you put it on full main beam using the stalk by pushing it backwards it engauges the xenon. All very swish.

I'm more than happy with my kit, just hope it lasts a long time as I don't fancy replacing the bulbs if they go wrong! It's a nightmare down there! lol

Aye that would be me.

Unfortunetly still a student delivering pizza's so no real mods done to my ibiza yet, I only got round to getting a strut brace a couple of weeks ago, and fell in with K&N panel filter and I got the PD160 intake yesturday so they're in now, but it just leaves me craving more mods now.

The growing list goes something like:
Lowering Kit
Brake upgrade
More power!
HID Lights
Alloys

It appears my rear wishbone bushes are stuffed so looks like I'll be having to get them replaced soon so I might try and get the front bushes replaced with the Cupra ones at the same time.
Its all those damn speed bumps around the town that wrecks them so quickly.

As for discount well the managers don't give us much if any discount but there are ways and sometimes nice managers so you never know.

Btw what colour temperature did you go for? cause they look bluer than most I've seen, with a possible exception to the yellow ibiza that used to blind me anytime I saw it.

I went for 6000k and in the pics they look really blue, but infact in real life they are the most gorgeous blue/violet colour...I'm really happy with mine, don't like the iced blue HID ones like on Mercs...these are fab!!!! Highly recommended

ill be sure to give ya a flash next time i see you.

i think because of the size of the reflector on the ibiza it really show's them up as blue, stephen's (in the yellow one) look really blue. i went for 8k dipped and 6k full.
