High Beam Assist speed limit?

Hi,

I've used high beam assist a fair bit, since moving, on some back roads and it seems fine when speeding about. But tonight I was going via another backroad which required slower speeds and I noticed it stayed off. It was pretty dark. So is there a minimum speed for high beam assist?

Cheers,
Izo

Dont know if this is true for the leon but below is the blurb from VW site

High Beam Assist

High Beam Assist dips your high beam automatically to improve driver control and safety for both the driver and other road users. The system is automatically activated when travelling over 37mph with your dipped beams on. Using a camera built into the rear-view mirror, the system automatically dips the headlights when it detects either oncoming traffic or vehicles ahead. It is easier than constantly switching from high to dipped beam and safer too, giving you the best view of the road ahead without dazzling other road users.

Yeah I think it must be something like this. I read on some Audi forum it has a minimum speed. I think it can be adjusted with vcds.

Cheers,

I can see you can make changes to when it kicks in (time delay) but nothing obvious for speed but would be very happy if somebody can advise what it is - using obd11

It appears it can be altered on obd11, found this on the thread.

Modify the configuration wizard beam

With this modification we can modify the rates of activation of the beam in automatic mode

1 - Module A5 - front sensors driver assistance system. Code (20103)

2 - Adaptation

3 - Select - speed p.asist activation. Beam

4 - Change the desired value. By default 57 Km / h

5 - Select - Threshold vel. To recomend. Road lights OFF

6 - Change the desired value. Default 27 Km / h

Is there any indicator that assist is on or off?
The main beam symbol which appears in the central display (between rev counter and speedo) will have an 'a' in the centre if it's set to auto.

You can toggle between auto and normal with the stalk

Not sure if this may help but according to the manual this only works if you light switch is in AUTO mode.

– Switch the ignition on and turn the light
switch to position AUTO
– From the base position, move the main
beam and turn signal lever forwards
››› page 141. When the warning lamp  is
displayed on the instrument panel display,
the main beam assist is switched on.

Hi, any chance of having a copy of your A5 setup from OBD11, Reason I ask is on the backup sites for the 2017 onwards cars there is no longer any option to change these values and on the pre facelift it was different coding and just want to make sure i have the correct details for 2016

Cheers in advance.
