Nothing at all mate, thats what these sports diesels are made for, i cover over 20k a year in mine, vag pd tdi's are pretty bullet proof, it's just other components that can fail. At 60k i would just make sure the timing belt has been changed, apart from that good oil and regular service intervals and this engine will last a couple of hundred thousand miles at full potential. :)

My 53 plate Ibiza TDI Sport has a mere 160k on the clock.

It hasn't got full history, so no idea if anything that major has failed in the past, but it drives very well and I'm confident 'there's plenty of life left in the old dog yet' ;-)

I wouldn't say 60K was high at all, especially for a diesel. With a high miler as you say, the engine may be as bullet proof as you want, but just remember that everything else has also done the same mileage, like the suspension, gearbox, clutch etc. So unless the previous owner/s have kept on top of the maintenance, it can and probably will cost a small packet to put right as I've found out :(

60k is no problem for the engine at all. the Cupra TDI is a bit rough on the clutch so check all is well there and no slipping at full throttle 2k revs.

The brakes are very good and at 60k I would be looking for worn discs and low pads. IMO 60k miles will mean that the suspension will be on it's way out in the form of worn out dampers and worn out void bushes. Check these out and if they have been done that's fine, if not knock the price down or make it a part of the deal that they are done before you collect it.
