Hit a badger and my front radar sensor hanging off!

Hi I was on route to work this morning only to unfortunately hit a badger. Being that they're tough little things I thought it would have caused damage to my car but thankfully it hasn't.

After closer inspection it seems it's knocked the front radar sensor out of place. I've been looking around online at images of new mounting brackets and mine doesn't look like it's broken per say but I thought I'd post the images here for anyone more clued up than me in this area. Looking at my (admittedly shoddy) pics do we think this is a new mounting bracket job?

Seat Leon FR Mk3 2020

Thanks in advance. 🙂

Well, I don't know how it's on Leon, but I would definitely get it checked out. My father has a Hyundai Tucson and one day something felt down a bridge and tore his reg plate off, no damage, but after 100-200 kms, all of the anticollision systems turned off and started playing up, it started braking out of sudden doing 150 km/h when no one was infront of me. The garage said that only one small plastic part was broken, so it needs to be changed. The radar is around 5000 euro (speaking of hyyndai), so we filled out insurance claim, get it checked out, better than pay from your own pocket.

Nojbik, you should have checked with Kia, same company different name, I used to supply the local Hyundai dealer with a lot of stuff because it was cheaper to me ar the Kia parts dept than he could buy some parts at, same stuff, boxes part numbers, strange but true.

Martin, thanks for the info, but the car is owned by my father's company, leased etc etc. But it has full coverage, so he only paid like 300 euro, so he doesn't care, though he should allow me to work on the car haha

I’m more surprised that there is not more damage. After an articulated truck tyre blowout as we over took it destroyed the bottom grille on our FR, and a small bird destroyed the upper grille on my Cupra.

Yeah managed to have a look at the bracket after work yesterday, turns out the bracket was fine and it was a case of clipping the sensor back into place. Unfortunately driving along today the car threw up an error so it clearly needs recalibrating. What kind of costs could I be looking at if anyone knows?

I think it’s around 300 it used to be 400 but think it’s gone down in price that’s dealer. You may be able to get a fast fit place to do it for a lot less but I have never done that myself.

I think that it depends on the dealer - I was quoted £170 at Audi previously - the radar is supposed to be adjusted if the rear suspension geometry is adjusted.

Ouch, yeah it's in the dealers on Thursday for the dreaded rear seat catch rattle so might get them to look at it whilst it's there.

Cheers for the info guys! 👍
