Hi guys, recently just fitted a new pedal box, put the steering wheel back on, started the car was fine. Turned the steering wheel and the horn just starts going crazy. I am wondering if it is a ground issue as i have chacked for bare wires and have not seen any.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Also there is a lead which i don't think was plugged in when i disassembled the steering column, don't know whether this needs to be plugged in?

Hope its not a similar problem to my Arosa when the horn started going off with steering wheel movement. To cut a long story short,a wire in the wheel/column had chaffed, it caused the airbag to go off just as I turned the wheel to the left. Still got the scar's on my right arm. Be careful.

Wow that sounds pretty bad, so i guess its not a good idea driving it around like it is then. I have just disconnected the fuse for the horn. I have checked for wires that are chaffed and can't see any. Will have another look tomorrow though.

Also my airbag light wont go off. will i have to go to SEAT to get them to reset it or something?

yeah you will need to reset the fault codes for the airbag, I had to do this, as I refitted my steering wheel and drove it for a mile to make sure it was on streight before I refitted the airbag, once I did refit the bag the light would not go out.

sounds like a loose wire mate, i'd remove the airbag again and remove the black bits either side of the air bag and give everything a good looking over, then re-fit it all and hopefully you'll be sorted :)

right that lead that you've got loose should be plugged in but I don't know what it does exactly, in your pic behind it you can see one plugged in already, if you remove it theres another slot behind it for another plug
