how do i bleed power steering system

hi all.

just replaced the power steering pump on my 97 toledo and now it's running a lot smoother, but it still sounds like there is air trapped somehere in the pump.


How do i bleed the system, do I just sit an turn the steering wheel till all the air is out OR is there a little gadget somewhere to assist in the bleeding???


help please........................any1???

just keep turning lock to lock and topping up fluid till bubbles gone and it sounds ok

Manged to get it done but aint sure if i got all the air out as pump still sounded a bit noisy on full lock.

You shouldn't hold it on full lock for long (yes it sounds noisy) you'll do damage if you do.
