How do you remove the engine cover on a 1.4 sport?

I have used the search the cant understand how to do it for my car yet. I have a Mk 4 Ibiza 1.4 Sport, and need help getting into the engine, How do you take the engine cover off? i dont wanna force it and break it. Anyone got a 1.4 sport or sould point me in the right direction would be awesome...

and for new panel filters, where should i order one from and shouldi get Green, Pipercross or K&N??

grab engine cover and give it a good tug and it will come off. theres no soild fixing all push fit

think most people with the FR and cupras use green pannel filters but not sure on the 1.4

pretty sure theres panel filters by Green & K&N for the 1.2 and 1.4

Yeh just pull from the front 2 corners and then pull from the back 2 corners, may feel like your pulling the engine off but its ok... it wont
just pops on and off on some rubber seals on each corner

hey i dont even have a engine cover for my mk4 ibiza 1.4 sport, did yours come with the car?

i got a 1.4 sport ibiza and dont have a engine cover, the seat garage said if it didnt come with one there isnt a engine cover for that model, however i have seem 1.4 sports with engine covers, anyone know?

seat are really skimpish with stuff like that...there is a engine cover they just decided not to put it on urs for some unknown money saving reason!

Thats total bull**** it may not have come with one but mine definitely has one (its the petrol one).

Tell them there is one and to stop lying lol. You may have to pay for it though...

i know thats what i said to them, beccause i know sum exact cars as mine with engine covers, and i didnt even mind paying for it but they still wunt admit that theres one for it, they said id av to get a secondhand one off another ibiza

anyone know where i can buy one from? 2nd hand or new?

If they say there isnt a cover for the 1.4 how do they expect you to get a secondhand one? Sounds like they are confusing themselves!

You could try phoning a different dealer and gettin them to post it to you maybe?

Yes mine came with the car but some people on here have said that theirs didn't come with one!!

my airbox looks like its part of my cover so i thought they'd come with all of them! mines a petrol 1.4 sport 02 might just have them on early models, im gona try n whip mine off 2moro

Ive got a pipercross one in mine, pretty good too, Just take the peice of plastic out just infront of the filter, it just slides out (You'll see the one i mean when you open the airbox)

This is the cover on my 2003 sport.
