Hi guys,

Saw this on another forum i use and it seemed to help a few people out... basically you put your cars details, how often you top the car up with oil.

Im not talking scientific levels, just an educated guess.

On the other forum, a few people posted and a discussion got going, and they diagnosed a few people who have problems!! so maybe i can help a few here.

Maybe, maybe not :p

Car:

Leon Cupra (AUQ)
106k Miles
210bhp
Mainly Short Journeys
Top up every 4months (ish)

(reason for this thread, is my oil level light came on this morning and it reminded me of that thread lol)

hi
i check mine quite often and i have only needed to top up once every 6 months and even then it wasnt nowhere near the min mark. and it does lots of short journeys during the week when anna drives it but gets a bit of a heavier foot at the weekends.we also do lots of 180 mile round trips too
ak

As the car gets older with more mileage, you normally end up topping up more often, unless it's been maintained to a pristine level.

absolutely, but some people just top their cars up without thinking, so thought if they post here and someone goes "WHAT?!" then they might get it fixed.

Like the blocked oil pickup pipe etc :)

2003 LCR 210
107K miles

have owned the car for 5 years, can count on one hand the number of times I've had to top up the oil between services!

Always serviced early (prob every 8 or 9K miles) and always use Mobil 1 0w-40.
