Tbh i just cut it. Removed the centre console and cut down the middle. Once refitted it isnt at all visible

I'm confused, what metal bracket beneath the centre console?

Thats what i was thinking tbh. My carpet went back in fine. I made a couple of cuts.

One was to avoid having to take out the heater ducting, the other was across the centre console near the gearstick.

I dont remember having to remove any metal brackets tbh

Yeah that bit i just cut. One straight cut. Completely invisible once the carpet is back in

i sealed my panel and now it has started leaking again is there a better way to reseal it for example putting a rubber seal around the edge of the carrier panel

Looking at an earlier post of yours you state that you can see water on the top of the sills.

That is OK. It's when the door fills up and allows the water to flow out the door card/carrier plate over that sill into the car. If you sealed you door correctly, ideally with Butyl strip it should be good for a long time, just make sure the drain holes are kept clear as well.

Did you check the cable entry from the bulkhead? Have a good feel on the carpet behind the foot pedals for signs of damp.

thanks didnt know that i will need to do the black drivers side door as it left the carpet abit wet. i might just wax the sills so the water just runs off
