How to make your 12v accessory socket permanently live

I think that Skoda is the only VW Group marque that still has a permanent feed to the "ciggy" socket, going by what I've read over in the Fabia forum. I think that it is possible to change that using VCDS I've never looked into that as I am not interested in making that change - well not yet.
