Hi, just a quick one........I've had my Stylance for around two months now and the other day I hit the horn to 'jeer' at some a**hole who decided he needed more of the tarmac than I did[:@]

The minute I did it, I thought 'Oh crap, I bet he's laughing his nuts off now'

I have never heard such a pathetic, puffy little beep, oh, except on Noddy's car:whistle:

Maybe it's 'cause mines red too:D

I can't imagine a full blooded FR or Cupra sounding like this...........it's embarrassing!

Are there like two horns (twin tone) and maybe one of mine ain't working?
I must admit, haven't looked yet?

What's yours like??

Cheers,

Ian

I think the leon horn is a two tone jobby.

Mine is way more than adequate as horns go! :p

PS I have a Cupra.

In front of a PC....
Hmm I had to use my horn the other day as some muppet almost drove into me but that is by the by. But when I hit the horn it just sounded soo wussy (even my passenger mentioned it)
Don't really want to check if its a 2 tone horn as that will just wake up the Neighbours....wonder if we can change it?

I think mine sounds OK. I like to pause for a while when its pressed down for added effect :cartman:

I beeped a couple of HGV's on the motorway a while back as they were being total tossers by having a constant overtaking battle, holding up all the traffic, while the road ahead was clear. As I passed the last HGV I gave him a blast, unfortantely the one van in front of me thought it was directed at him, and he threw himself into the slow lane and almost off the motorway. Felt really bad for the rest of the trip :D :cartman:

I posted a few months ago on the same issue.

I used to have mk2 leon 2006 stylance and the horn was deep. but now got a 2008 sport and it sounds well soft. I hate it

Ive looked into it. its a single unit and the one thats installed is a high tone component but it can be replaced with a offical seat low tone unit.

they're about 28 quid from a dealer.

Still need someone to give a definite decision whether i'd have to take the bumper off to replace it though.

You can get to it if you take the fog light grill and the fog light itself out. Leave the bumper as it is ;) 3 screws for the fog light, and maybe one for the grill or it just pops out with a tug.

I had this problem too. Sounded pathetic high pitched single tone. Took it to the dealer and they fixed a fault. I have now got a proper two tone.

The same fault was on my MkV Golf and it took a bit of a while to get the VW dealer to accept it because when they put the car on diagnostics it finds no fault if at least one of the two is working.

funniest thing is my loan leon has exactly the same horn , sounds like it came from "toys r us"

actually the loan leon is only 3 months old done 1200 miles and has more faults on it than all faults put together on all the cars i have ownd.
think the duild and quality control is quite shocking on the mk2
