Hardest part is getting the old one off. It can be quite tight, especially with dried up screenwash and all the other crap that comes up off the roads. And the new one might need some modifying so it doesn't damage the screen.

£230 from RM Coatings in Livingston. It was the same price for whatever finish you wanted. Maybe it varies with wheel size though.

Thanks for the comments guys. :)

Can I just say I don't recommend this company, as they used a wheelgun to do the wheelnuts up, which stuck them on far too tight. Particularly on one nut, which the thread was stripped on and requires a new hub to fix the problem. No mods for the foreseeable future, spent a big amount of money today replacing brake pads and discs all round, as well as fixing a knackered wheel bearing, which a local private garage failed to detect, despite me telling them I suspect the bearing was dodgy. They instead fitted new brake pads, saying that the others were near enough stuck on and that's where the droning noise I had was coming from. So those new pads had to go in the bin today, which was money down the drain.

Feeling really fed up now and earlier on I was actually thinking about getting rid, incase this is a taste of more things to come. But maybe I've calmed down a bit now, maybe....

Nice looking FR Ian, exact copy of my wife's FR by the looks of it :) - We've just put a set of facelift FR wheels on our pre-facelift and it suits the car very well...

Cheers for the comments. :)

I was thinking of changing it, but then went a nice long drive last week and realised I'd be stupid to get rid of it at the moment. Being made redundant some time in the near future (probably early 2011), so I'm going to hold off until then and see about a Leon of some sort. :D

So I'm going to treat the car to some goodies I think. First up is a new head unit, courtesy of Andy Waugh's amazing spring clearout. :) I'll stick up some recent pics from the sunshine later.

Couple of photos from a drive to the Trossachs and the lochs of that area.

Pleasure Iain. ;) As they say on adverts, everything must go.

I want a muddy pic though.

Got the head unit fitted the other week, went on a road trip the other day with the ipod hooked up. Makes long journeys that bit more bearable now. :D

I forgot to take a muddy photo from when it was at it's worst. But it's still got that patch of mud on the front wing. Infact I took it on a trip to the South Coast of England with me. It almost got to visit the Isle of Wight!

Well I was planning on keeping it for a good while yet, but I saw a Leon FR TDi for sale at the dealers and had a little think that night. Decided it'd be better to change now, as my car's got a lot of miles on it and I'll probably never get much for it if I was to change in another year or so and I spent a lot of money in the first half of this year putting things right, so who knows what else could have gone wrong.

Plus to be honest, I'm bored after driving the same model of car for the past 6 years. :) So the Leon is on the way next week. :D

Just found it written off in a scrapyard up North. Sad times. It was up for sale in January in Lanarkshire with 112k on the clock and still going strong!

Somebody tipped me off and sent me the ebay link. I thought maybe the engine had gone pop or something, but it's been pranged!
