Ibiza 1.2 wont start

Hi guys, I recently baught a ibiza 1.2 12v (52 plate) and it worked fine when I got it, but then one day it just wouldn't start.

I've tried lots of things, the fuel pump is working on the start of the key, fuel is being delivered to the spark plugs as it should.

Crank shaft sensor has been replaced, engine turns over fine, no management lights on computer, everything "is" fine. :S

Anyone else had any such problems? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Ray,

the 1.2 do have timing chain issues which will cause a non starting issue, this and coil pack issues

Thanks for the reply, i forgot to add something else to my post, the battery went flat a couple of times which leads me to thinking it may be the imobiliser. If it is so how do I get that fixed?

As for the coil packs, every single coil is doing the same thing and as they are all seperate i'm pretty sure it's not that.

Will look into the timing chain soon.

Yep, as said before, if it's the timing chain, the engine will turn over but not actually start-

expensive fix i'm afraid, but hassle your dealer

Also, it sounds like you should get your battery tested, it's free at Halfords
