Ibiza Sport 1.6 105PS - what standard equipment does it have ?

Looking on the Seat website it isn't too clear what is standard on the Sport model of the New Ibiza.

It says there are 3 variants, the S, the SC and the Sport. It says the SC hasCruise Control and Coming Home features as standard, and since the Sport is one up from that then i would have thought the Sport would have had these features too ??, but it doesn't mention that.

In a nutshell, what are the standard features of the New Ibiza 1.6 Sport ? Does it have Cruise Control / Coming Home features ?

Also, they quoted me £93 to get the USB option (where i can use my USB stick to play music through the car radio), is it simply a matter of taking the radio out and adding a USB cable myself to save £93, or is it a slightly different type of radio they put in for that ?

Also, when it says it has 6 speakers (2 in the front, 2 in the back), where are the other 2 placed ?

Best Regards,
Andy

Well just had a test drive of the 1.6 Sport and it's a cracking little car !. I went and bought it, should have it by Friday. £9800 on a July 2008 car, 1,800 miles, FSH (Demo Car), Bluetooth, Climate Ctrl, 17" alloys, metallic (black magic) paint, etc. Brand new on the road should be £12,200 so a £2400 saving is not too bad.

Just a small query tho. On the new Ibiza, the trip computer is a bit weird, i couldn't get it to show instantaneous mpg or average mpg, is this done with the buttons on the stalk ??

Also on the trip computer it was showing current speed (which i was surprised at), but in km/hr, is there a way to change it to mph ??

All the best
Andy

Yeah the Sport Coupe and the Sport 5 door are the same car apart from the Coupe is a 3 door. Lovely cars to drive !. Hopefully pick up mine tomorrow (fingers crossed !). The 17" alloys really set the car off !

Hi Spireman, mine is 6 months old (a demo car), which is probably why they could have it ready in 2 days. Wish i could have afforded new, but having said that they knocked £2400 off new and it has the 17" alloy upgrade, climate control and Bluetooth, so i cannot really complain. It still has 2.5 years Seat warranty anyway (enough time to iron out any problems which could arise)

The Lunar Grey looks awesome !! - i saw one yesterday. I think the best colours are the Grey, Black and the White. The one i'm getting is the metallic black (called Black Magic)

Andy

Hi Spireman, i'll post some of mine when i get a chance too. I use http://tinypic.com/ to upload my pics, it's pretty easy to do as they already give you the link to paste onto forums such as this one when you upload pics, and it's instant.

Hopefully picking mine up in an hour (fingers crossed !!!!)

All the best !

Just picked it up today and it's an awesome car !. Enough power for to suit me, really pokey little engine !. The mp3 radio in it is a treat to use, nicely laid out and simple to operate, good sound too. You'll definitely love yours when you pick it up !

Now i only have to try and figure how to get the digital speedo reading to read out in mph instead of km/h !! - the book says you can do it, but following the instructions doesn't work ! - only a very minor niggle though !

I'll get some pics on here possibly tomorrow when it's a bit lighter and not raining !

All the best,
Andrew

Exactly that. Yep there's 2 in the back and 2 in the front + 2 tweeters on the door posts (tweeters for the higher frequency ranges, crisper sound). The tweeters are better placed on this car than they were with the Leon Cupra, sounds better (to my ears anyway !)

does it sound well? the only option i had was the power folding mirrors. i didnt really want to keep adding extras as it bumps the price up too much and then it doesnt become cheap. i paid £ 9701 for my 1.4 3dr sport with a full set of maps and flaps thrown in, i would however like those sill guard protectors.

Well it sounds good to me. I had a Blaupunkt in my Leon and it's as good as that !. I just love the display on it, very clear and looks really neat and different from other car radios. That's a pretty good price, mine was £9800, with 17" alloys, bluetooth phone calling, Climate control and metallic paint, but it's 6 months old. Working all that out on their website the car should have been a little over £12,200 new, so it's over £2000 saving. You'll love the new Ibiza !

I'll probably keep it 3 years, so it kinda fits in with my budget and the warranty will run out in 2 and a half years. I think Seat have a 3 year warranty still ??

Andy

is the radio easy to tune as a few reports says it is fiddly, but i suppose once you have your favourite ones in then you can leave it alone. is it mp3 compatable as i have loads of discs ready, just saves keep taking them in and out if you have 10 albums on one disc

Nope, i figured it out without the manual. All you do is tune to a station (using left and right) then rotate the dial to a spare preset and press&hold the rotary knob. Really simple. It certainly is mp3 compatible, i have just burned 4 CD's with over 100 tracks each !. It also works with CDRW (but they need to be finalised), but it saves on burning CDR's if your music tastes change as often as mine do !

Hey Andy, congratulations on getting your car, I should be getting the 1.4 SE in a few days, just wondering, do you know if it is possible to take out the HU? Gonna get sound system stuck in if possible, just cant find anywhere which says whether you can or not, so best asking someone with the car :)

Thanks, SB

Hi there SB, i believe you can although i cannot see how it pulls out !! - i had a good look at it today because i want to pull it out to get a USB cable connected to the back so that i can use it's USB features, saves £93 getting Seat to do it and i think it should be a simple job if only i could find a way to get the flamin radio out in the first place !!!. Cannot see any slits or slots where a radio "key" would fit into to pull it out so i'm not entirely sure !.

There will be a way though, surely if the radio breaks then there must be a way !

Andy
