Seeing as so many people are putting up ibiza vs threads I thought id stick one up that i was amazed by.

The other night i was out in my cupra r when I pulled up next to a cavalier sri.
He started revving his engine & i just couldnt resist to smoke him! :D

Anyway after easily beating the cav i noticed a BMW X5 in my rear view mirror keeping up with me!

I knew these things were quite pokey but didnt realise how fast they were for something really quite heavy. He didnt overtake me but, managed to keep up past 80 mph. I was just shocked cos I never had these things down as quick motors.:-o

Anyone else had a similar experience?

I had the same thing when I first got mine. X5 right up my ass, booted it an pulled into the middle lane on the motorway, and he sailed past.

They do a 4.8 litre X5, which was the one that sailed past me!

Sure put me in my place!

(4.8-litre, 355-hp, 32-valve, V-8 engine making 369 lb-ft of torque at 3,500 rpm)

lol i hear you, it was very annoying for the first couple weeks after the trial, but 4/5months later i had the full code and it made the car special rather than just getting it remapped from the start

i had a golf vr6 and tried my luck with the new range rover sport.....that thing nailed me to the ground, sum chick driving it too!! fappin fast, in a straight line, but get the 4x4 and something like an ibiza on some corners then the only time you'll see the 4x4 is in your rear view mirror.

so is all this revo software as good as its cracked up to be?

dont know if this is true, heard a few times that after the code has ran out after the trial, you havnt got your standard power back, you lose power???? its like a kinda catch so they make you go for it, not just with revo, with other trials also, is this actually true or not ????

 You just get used to the power. Even though it's only 5hrs.

So by getting REVO its that good huh?

It rocks. Both my last two cars were Revo'd. If the M3 had a turbo, and was VAG, it'd have Revo code too..

Took the ibiza tdi from 130bhp->190bhp, (and 220lbft->313lbft) and the S4 from 265bhp->350bhp (and 270lbft->380lbft) (I had exhaust+induction kits on those too).

All remaps from reputable tuners are good, but the fact you can play about with the settings dependin on your mood with them is awesome. - I mean you can set it back to standard for when the girlfriend's driving, and adjust the boost + timing, for when you run on normal undleaded, or when you put in optimax+octanebooster, or somewhere inbetween. it makes the car a lot more fun generally :)

thanks

This definately isn't true for Revo, it just feels that way and you've got the ECU adaptation to deal with as well which is why it feels slower. It's been discussed to death, so do a little search for it.
