I've never been happy with Seat's original seals for the boost pipes and didn't think it was worth buyin complete Forge of SFS equipment.

I have however bought and fitte Forge's 90deg bend which is the last pipe underneath the engine:

I took off all the other pipes yesterday and replaced all the seals with these:

I chose 45mm by 5mm wall thickness. These can fit around nearly all the seals, from the EGR pipe past the intercooler and the last two around the 90deg bend underneath the cooler. Beyond that the forge one takes care of the rest.

To say these are a tight fit is an understatement! I greased them up and used large pliers to fit the pipes in. It was hard work but they are very very tight fit. I fitted the clips back on and then cable tied all of them.

I'm really pleased with the results.

I'm also quite surprised of the torque readings:

I thought standard only had 310Nm?

The one I'm slightly worried about is my MAF and EGR. The MAF results don't seem to follow the specified MAF - what do you think?

How can I tell if my EGR is working ok? And what do you think about my MAF results?

I can send the xls file if anyone can help?

Cheers

I didn't think the forge kit came with intercooler seals, I thought you had to re-use what were in it???

You're right. Fitted new original ones for that part (the garage did that bit). But when i came to taking that part off it was already such a tight fit i couldn't take it off! No wiggle at all.

I like your idea of replacing the seals with those, think I'll try this myself.
Can I just ask why you decided on 45mm, the originals seem to be 65mm, but I assume they've stretched to that.
Does putting on a smaller diameter seal keep it in place better as it'll be a tighter fit?
Thanks
