You ight want to sticky this as a guide for anyone thinkin of buying a forge FMIC.
Anyways the kit consists of two 300mm straight pieces which go across the front crash bumper,
to fit the bottom one you have to hack the crash bar to pieces and also cut away most of the mounting bracket, very poor design tbh!
Anyways my fix uses the pipework but in a differeant way BUT you need to purchase one new pipe.

The following pic, for the bottom pipe on the intercooler (1) to run like it does they have had to hack away all the mounting bracket!!
I know the new kit consists of a modified crash bar but if you don't get one then your stuck lol.
This shows what I mean, pic from forge.

Anyway here's my modified way, best thing is you can still fit the fog lamp and the fog lamp cover :)

You can see the new pipe (3) below, it's just a simple 51mm ID silicone hose, 90 degree bend and 120mm from the center of the bend to either end or 6" lol

Anyway the modified system, take the 300mm straight off the bottom intercooler joint (1) picture 1,
remove the forge 45 degree bend from the bottom hose going to the turbo (2) picture 1.

Slip this onto the intercooler bottom connector where (1) was, now (2), picture 3.
Use the long metal straight connector and join the 45 and 90 degree pipes together, picture 3.

Slip the small straight connector onto the open end of the 90 degree bend (3), cut down the straight (1) so that it pulls the 90 (3) as tight as possible to the radiator ect, picture 4.

I'll modify this tomorrow with pictures of the fitted bumper ect!!

Hope this helps you guys.

Is this why people buy Seat Sport intercooler as it actually fits! At a meet recently someone had an intercooler and their bumper was cracked where the pipes were bulging out (dunno if this was cos he has a pre facelift bumper maybe?)

Yeah it is,to say it's been produced by a very large company who specialise in this area, i'm very dissapointed with the fitting and especially the instructions!!
All it took me was 3 hours to modify the the system for a far better fit AND my boost is actually alot smoother now, the gauge no longer buzzes ect...

this is what iv done might try gettin some mre hoses and do what you have done :D

That can't be structurally sound :ban:
that will just fold over with the mildest of taps......
bet your insurance comapny wouldn't be impressed with that either:whistle:

i got a Forge FMIC on mine, sure the "modded"crash bar isn't that excessively amended.

Think the crash bar has to be modded on all forge ic when i got the kit it was already cut out so i put the flat bit of steel it should be stronger than what it was first time around.if i crash my car and it does bent then even if it was moded or not the car would be a wright off anyways cause the age of it and the miles its done .i dont really think about crashin my car to be fair

is this a kit you have bought from new or 2nd hand?

as Forge supply a modified crash bar with the kit so it fits without having to make such modifications

Mine was second hand, got it from a lad on here I know called tom lol
Anyways I thought of cutting the crash bar arm like the lad above and welding a plate over the top but TBH I wasn't happy about removing all the strength from that side.
After about 90mins of looking and thinkin, the idea of the 45 degree bend before the crash bar looked good and indeed it bloody is, only cost £16 for the extra pipe and the difference is great!

I only had to take the bottom lip off the crash bar so that the sharp edge didn't rub against the pipe.
I cut it off and fitted some rubber edging to make is soft for the pipe, you can see that on the second pic.
