In need of some help!

Good afternoon all, having some problems with my car, it's a Seat Leon Cupra 180bhp on a 03 plate.

Got in it sunday morning after some pretty hefty frost, started the car and everything sounded normal, went to pull away and it just started coughing and spluttering, went rather juddery as well, so gave the throttle a bit of a blast and it went back to normal, drove the 20 miles back home and it was perfectly fine, got in it this morning and it did exactly the same thing, after a rev it just went back to normal again!

After having a wee search on the forum i have a feeling it could be the MAF, so i popped down to see my local mechanic whom has done work on all mine and my familys cars for many years and knows his stuff, he said he'd plug it in to his box of magic tricks which would read any logged fault codes, so after looking in the log book we found the diagnostic port, the hole was there but no socket!! We spent an hour searching for it, but we couldn't find the damn thing!

It has got me rather worried now as i know it has been chipped, and in the service history i have it has been hooked up to a diagnostic machine in it's past, so the socket has got to be somehwere right? As it's part of the loom, it can't have been removed!

So can anyone shed some light as to where it may be lurking? :(

Is there any way it could have been moved? How long is the wire?
