I got the dreaded limp mode so was just looking at random things... anyway I took the boost pipe off the one that goes from EGR to the front left of the engine bay plastic one... EGR bit back on easy but the bit in front on the drivers side lights is a bitch!

anyway I just about got the clip thing (what the hell are these called?) out the way and the pipe is back on (only took me 4 hrs... and now the battery on car is dead.):censored:

Now I am just gonna go shop in morning and get a screw type clip to replace the one I cannot put back on.. but whats the best thing to do with my battery? are they knackered once empty? or should I buy a new battery as well.

Thanks
Allan

well try recharging the battery by jump starting it first because they wont always completely pack up but i would keep it spare and just pick up a new one that way you dont have to worry about taking jump leads with you all the time lol a new one only cost just under £15 for me so i wouldnt worry.

Get someone to jump start your car and then when you get the car started, go for a drive, the alternator will charge the battery for you. If it doesn't hold a charge, then it's time for a new battery.

Completely different car, but my Primera wouldn't charge n it needed a new alternator, mechanic then showed me the radiator which only had 10% of it left and was surprised I'd had no trouble, especially as it was that really hot summer a few years ago. Did tend to get hot at 80mph but some cruising at 40 sorted it out fine. Great car, seriously. (P reg!)

yeah bump it and have a run out, half an hour will do the job. when you get back leave it to stand (switched off) for an hour then try it again. if it starts fine then all good, if not get yourself a new battery. there not really that expensive these days anyways

good luck with the problem

ta for replies

woke up at 9:09 the baby normally wakes up at 7 so I was already late for work lol

I then pushed the Leon off the drive and took the Micra to the local A1 motor shop and bought a £20 plug in charger and a jubilee Clip for the pipe all fitted and I go work in Micra (S reg 12 yr old never any problems lol).

The missus has taken the Leon all the way to Yorkshire from Warrington(oldskool ;) ) and back should be back to normal :)

note for next time I do something DONT!!

any ways its defo sticky vanes as the plunger on turbo doesn't move very well. How many gaskets does the turbo have?
