Ok that's cool cos iv been talking myself out of it since I read that. They feel pretty solid. I live the idea of something small and pacey with good stoppers and good handling. Thats why I liked fiesta ST so much I bought 2. So cheap to run and plenty of fun. I don't think the Cupra will disappoint :)

A love mine like think it's hellish the gearbox is lush, it's rapid, looks the tits and cheap to insure. I enjoy Beamer baiting they always seem to think there motors are the fastest things on the planet.

If you like Fiesta ST's then you will love the Cupra. The build quality is above and beyond the ST trust me. I have 3 friends with ST's and there are nowhere near as nice as the Cupra inside.

Also one of them has the Mountune MR200 kit on his ST which takes it to 200BHP and 154lb torque, cost him £3K, stock Cupra ruins him. Only on a pure straight with perfect changes will he over take. Although the quickness of the DSG and torque from the 'charger have sent you on your way.

tbh i think robdf2 is being a ****... your new and at least u making an effort to learn about these cars. most salesman know f all about the products so i think its refreshing to have a sales guy show some interest in something other than taking our money lol

this post has got diddly to do with you buddy , do you see me calling you names?
no
so button it!

it was a fair post , the guys a salesman , i dont care if hes been there 5 mins or 20 years ,
he should know about these cars , so what does he do when joe bloggs comes in and says what does the cupra do on mpg mate?
hang on ill just load up seat cupra and see what the forum says

i can understand being a car entusiast and finding knowledege but he works in the place where he can get the best knowledge.

i respect eveyone has an opinion and so may not like peoples opinions , there was no dig at the guy and certainly nothing to do with you.

Have a word with yourself!

What Rob said is true, you do expect the salesman to know the answers to those questions. You would also expect him to know what his warranty will be worth with all of the mods he plans and also to be aware of the issues (failures) that have been happening on the particular model.

If you started in November then you have had plenty of time to get up to speed or your not going to still be in the job at the end of your 3 month trial.

To the OP I would say the main issues I have had with the 2 brand new Cupras I have purchased over the years have been the dealers being economical with the truth, dealers blaming you for failures despite them being well known warranty issues and Seat UK only doing things when a notice before action letter is suggested as being the next correspondence.

I'm sure you will not suffer from any of this and will have a great Mk5 Cupra that never
fails.:D

I've heard of others with rattles but mine has none at all, can't fault the build quality on mine.

I had a MK1 LCR before the Boc and that rattled loads, guess its hit and miss a bit. I would take any car your considering buying for a good long test drive first and have a good listen

Cool well thanks again for everyone's I put its just a shame a couple of you are talking sh*te. Like I said above if someone asks me about mpg I will tell them mpg but what SEAT have as official figures and what people are really getting are two very different things. That's why I'm on here asking you guys (the owners) what you really think and as you can all see iv had very mixed answers so how could I possi ly of known without asking?

I am a salesman but iv come on here with a few questions to ask real owners what they like/dislike about there cars and if there are any major issues and what there really like on fuel.

But no matter which forum you go on there will always be a snotty 18 year old sat at his computer just waiting to hate on anyone for anything so well done dude but iv seen it all before and you don't appear to have anything constructive to say so do us all a favour eh?

I noticed there built much better Nath, I'm too old for a fiesta ST now ha ha but I think I can just about get away with a Cupra/boc.

Definitely. The cupra can look very subtle in the right colour. Especially track grey or black.

TBH I would of gone for a black Cupra if it was just polished black as I'm not too keen on metallic blacks. Saying that, speed blue is one the best colours I've had, easy enough to keep clean and looks amazing once in the sunlight :)

What colour are you considering?

I've not thought too much about colour tbh, the one we have in is speed blue and it's gorgeous so I'm tempted by that but I'm hoping I can get a white boca in through work for roughly the same money. I'm easy really but not keen on yellow and the red on the boca is not my favourite.

You done anything to yours Nath? I know I could find out but I'm on my phone ATM so easier to just ask lol.

Not done any major mods as of yet. I have changed the DRL light with my xenons to LED's rather than halogen, same with my sidelights so they now match the Xenon's white light.

Changed my interior bulbs to LED also. Other than that my cupra is stock.

Looking to get a Revo Remap and the ITG maxogen induction kit on it by the end of Feb/beginning of March. Should take the car to around 220-225BHP hopefully.

Mods after that will be H & R lowering springs and a full TBE milltek system.

For small mods, I'm toying with the idea of a carbon fibre gloss bonnet wrap.

I've got a trackday booked for the 26th of Feb at donnington which should be fun.

Good call on speed blue, I'd avoid white tbh as white cupra's and bocs are far too common, just have a quick look through autotrader and you'll see what I mean!

Just enjoying the car now that I have had the misfires sorted :)

Sounds good mate, I'm planning all the same mods pretty much just maybe in a slightly different order. I think 220bhp in a little Ibiza should be more than enough to embarrass some bigger more powerful cars.

That's something I really want on mine...xenons. Never had a proper xenon headlamp before just the adapter kit for halogens and there crap. Iv done all the led interior and exterior lights to my car as well as changing all the led's in the dials to blue like veedubs. Looks much better IMO.
