ive actually got this problem with my 1.9Pd 150 engine

Have you charted the data with the engine running. Do the charts look similar to mine? What affect is it having on your engine, is your fuel economy or power reduced?

The master technician said it's ok if the four figures added together are close to zero. But that sounds like garbage to me. Three cylinders receiving far more fuel than the ECU wants to deliver and one receiving far less must adversely affect the efficient running of the engine. They suggested it might just be anomalous data from the computer! He also said "it's all new to me"!

The injectors and the air mass meter were replaced. There's no difference except is it now has rusty injectors instead of shiny ones. We haven't had the computer readings checked again yet but I'm guessing they will be the same. The coding of the injectors to the ECU must have been unsuccessful because both the dealer and us had to do the adaptive road tests and then we had to drive it 500 miles. Still no improvement.

The technical unit gave a commitment to the dealer that if it did not solve the problem it would be taken to Milton Keynes for investigation and repair. But we are still waiting...

Sometimes when moving off at about 1,100 - 1,200 rpm it feels like the ECU has cut the throttle for an instant. It's easy to stall. It feels like poor torque for a diesel at low rpm. I haven't noticed any smoke but the DPF might be blocking it.

There's a crackling noise when accelerating and a sharp ticking noise on a steady throttle. In 4th and 5th gears at low rpm and high throttle there's a noise like a cross between something rubbing against a moving part and the rush of a current of air. But it's only heard when moving so I can't identify where it's coming from. From under the bonnet it just sounds like a diesel.

mine has no DPF or cat so doesnt help filter anything

also your noise at low speed with foot flat down would it not be the dual mass flywheel/clutch

as i read alot of posts regarding this , where your burning the clutch out , due to higher torque on diesels that petrols

they say with my engine the ARL 150 1.9PD engine not to boot it below 2000RPM

The clutch is not slipping so it won't be burning out. Also the torque isn't there. It's not just happening on full throttle. The noise will start at less than half throttle. Unless you change down it takes more throttle than it should to pick up speed from the low revs. For economy I'm trying not to use a lot of throttle and trying to keep the revs low like the recommended gear indicator says. I think the noise sounds more air flow than mechanical. I can't tell if it's pressure or vacuum and I can't find any leaks.

Mostly this noise can't be heard during normal driving. But it might still be causing problems throughout the rev range even though it can't be heard.

Andrewcupra have you been able to identify what can cause the incorrect fuelling indicated by the Injection Quantity Variation fields?
