This has been done to death before but I have a slightly different one. Instead of the metal intercooler boost pipe rattling against the fuel filter housing I think mine is rattling the other way against the cam belt( not sure if it is that but its got a belt on that spins:p ). I get a funny noise from 2500-3000rpm. I have moved it towards the filter housing but no way does it rattle against it. Would it be ok to wrap a tie rap around the boost pipe and attach closer to the fuel hosuing away from the belt?

Cheers

You don`t have much luck with your car lately mate do you.:( What you sugest sounds OK but i would get it looked at properly at some stage as it shouldn`t be doing it in the first place.

the good ol rag or sponge is an accesory under the tdi hood  rap something all the way round the boost pipethen no rattle from the cambelt cover or the fuel filter housing

The big pipe that is to the right of the engine bay that goes down into the bumper.
Left of the engine bay if you're stood at the front, looking at the engine ;)

The pipe may look miles away from the fuel filter housing, but it will still rattle - the engine moves a long way on it's mounts which are quite soft. Especially as you'll be around peak torque when the rattle happens.

What's the best way to get to it (if any) assuming I don't have any ramps/axle stands/pit? Doesn't seem to be enough space to get in there from above....
