kennyrodgers lcr
was sitting in the house a while thinking bout wat i could do to my lcr next.then it hit me.anytime its raining my car goes quicker.i came to the conclusion that this was because water was lying on the twin intercoolers bringing the charge air temp down by evaporating off the heat.so i decided to make an intercooler sprayer.this consists of a 12v windscreen washer bottle, hose, brackets, washer jets, fittings and a switch inside the car.all purchased off ebay of course, lol.def can notice the car pulling a wee bit better now in warmer weather.just wait till the temp starts 2 drop a bit then the water will freeze on the intercooler causing my lcr to go like s##t off a polished shovel!! :D

how hard was it to do then, know someone that got awsome i think it was to do his, in blue hoses, can see them as he has took his fogs out too at look good

I have been pondering over this one for a while aswell but thought of using a
CO2!!! Am i correct in saying that this will have a simillar effect??
How did you go about doing it??
Any pics of finished article??
thanks
Phil

wasnt 2 hard 2 fit no.im a mechanic so know my way round cars.mounted the bottle off one of the gearbox mounting bolts.not much room down there.just ran one pipe from the bottle and t'd it off 2 each intercooler.ran the pipes down the front of each intercooler so the jets are spraying into the face of it.i reckon water and co2 would do the same job.the whole lot only cost 22 quid so cheaper than gas anyway.maybe will take the fogs out cause never use them and will let more air in there.sorry havent had a chance 2 take pics yet but will do soon

duno he said he can just reverse it with about 5 minutes, looks really good tho like i said how he hasnt got his fogs and you can see the pipes

Saw someone had also recently done this with two sprayers to an Ibiza

What about a water methanol mix to spray on?

sorry guys havent got round 2 puttin up pics yet, will do soon though for yas.also fitted an inlet manifold sprayer last week, just teed it off the intercooler sprayer.this one has made such a big difference also as all u lcr men know there is a temp sensor in the manifold and if it gets 2 hot the ecu cuts back the fuel therefore reducing power!! :) bring on the evo's!!!!!!!!!

Just so you guys know, if you use CO2 then the same law applies as to NOS, that you must have a warning sticker on the rear of your car clearly stating you are carrying pressurised container or something.

I heard it at a cruise when a chap was being quizzed by the old bill about his Nitrous...

i was chatting to one off our turbo wizz kids at work and this he said cud be potentially in danger of cracking the intercoolers, unless the water is misted onto the coolers so we need to get some mist jets boys to do this been looking everywhere for a bottle and washer kit. think ive found one again for the same price as kennyrodgers84 £22.

Do you think this mod is worth doing if you have a forge smic. (leon cupra 180bhp) Also do you think there's a chance of cracking the alloy intercooler?

Sorry to jump in on the thread just seems like a good idea.
