bought one of those LED xenon type light bulbs from ebay, got it workin fine but when i turn it off it stays slightly lit, like a very dull glow, will this drian my battery because power is still getting to the bulb, anyone know how to fix?

I have read about this before and I think it's because the light has a permanent live and the earth is switched by the door open switch. (negative switching)

Hey

Hey man I had exactly the same problem with mine, I eventually didn't wanna chance runnin the battery so ive reverted back to the originl one. I'm toying with the idea if LED white Number Plate bulbs for the rear

mite end with same problem tho, gotta be a way to fix it,see i dont think it would kill the batter as an led doesnt need much power to run and its not even on full so i dont thnk it would, but dont want to be the one to chance it lol

Anyone found an answer to this yet?

I got mine today, and guess what same issue...

The two images below show it when the door is closed, it still dims as normal when the engine starts. I know it only uses under 1 watt to power it but it's drawing 12v to light up.

Can anyone shed any light on the matter?? :funk:

Back EMF from the dimmer circuit I reckon, you may be able to re wire it with the use of a relay and cure it, is it worth it though for a silly Led. You can get HID lookalike regular festoon and capless bulbs.

won't drain batttery and if you leave it long enough it will eventually go out, it's just using up the last of the stored energy, i get similar with the sidelight bulb on the speedo now mine's all led, when lights are off it stays lit up for about 30 sec

I've got one in mine (and boot) - same issue. Probably the clock drains the battery more than the dim LEDs. Strangely enough, when I open the door the boot light comes on! It doesn't do this with the old festoon bulb. You can always switch off the interior light when the car's not in use if you're worried it'll flatten the battery.

I have same bulb in my interior light and it stays on, it has never flattend the battery in about 7 months even when i didn't use the car for a couple of weeks.
