it won't give you more power (it isn't an engine mod lol)
it will give you less weight, so better acceleration/speed, and less weight will give you better handling (but you will need some stiffer suspension to try and minimise pitch and roll, to give you much better handling!)

This is on my to do list.

taking the back seats out and shelf and maybe one day getting some nice seats up front. Only for the reason to make the car lighter.

also on the to do list is get the lower strut fitted and rear strut fitted. I am sure all 3 together will make the car feel like a go cart.:)

Can't say I noticed much (if any) difference without the rear seats, except for a big increase in noise. They're now back in.

Thats the torque of the 8v though bud !

you could be towing a 6 bith double axel caravan and you wouldnt be able to notice the difference.

get rid of your spare wheel 1st, I orginally took my rear seats out because all my mates did and there was only me left with rear seats so ended up driving everywhere!

Be honest it's nothing to write home about, probably improved the handling more than anything, even if removing my seat gave me an extra 12bhp

Removing the sound deadening takes out just over a stone in weight and takes hours to remove as well as burning your arm on a heat gun!

Yeah, ill be honest dave, getting the heat gun out is maybe 1 step to far me but I suppose for you you track slag every 1lb counts.

I’d quite like to have all my seats out and some nice back carpet on a fitted bit of card or something slotted in so it looks nice and smooth. Finished off with a nice shiny show cage

If you get a show cage I will ram it somewhere! :)

For the record a Saxo Dimma show cage will fit the Ibiza, I know... did a trial fit and weight next to nothing

Dave,

Don’t be like that…we cant all have rockingham cages.

And the show cages are only £100…there bargains…..and I think would look great.

get a omp one from ebay..... 10 point one lol.

Where's these show cages you have seen? I think a show cage with seats look alright but when they removed and see this shine thing there, I don't like it. But times do change because at one time I was gonna fit that Dimma cage hehe

in all fainess depends what you want for a daily driver, i wouldnt mind mine stripped out because in all fairness it aint exactly a comfy ride with how low it is, and with my decat and exhaust its fairly loud too...if i want comfort id buy a fiat multipa???? lol..naah thats going too far

I know what you mean…mines loud with the decat to and I dread coming home late at night because I know I wake everyone up in my street.

Also snap on the ride as well, mine is a stiff ride but I don’t know id a full on 10 point cage would be to much so was thinking at being quite happy with a show one.

Then again, just ordered a lower strut so am guessing it will make it handle stiffer to……just point and steer like a 100cc go cart.
